The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status. 

During this partial government shutdown, the 1st Special Operations Medical Group remains open and continues to honor scheduled medical and dental appointments. Our patient appointing service is open and we're still taking requests for appointments. We're doing our best to minimize impact on our beneficiaries and their health care. The clinic’s Primary Care and Specialty Care services are fully operational. Ancillary services (pharmacy, laboratory, radiology) also remain operational. Walk-In Contraceptive Services

Get all of your contraceptive care in one place: Hurlburt Field's Walk-in Contraceptive Clinic.

All beneficiaries needing contraceptive services are eligible for care and counseling at walk-in contraceptive clinics and can receive education on safe sexual practices, contraceptives, and STI prevention and treatment.

The clinic is open every Thursday, 8 – 10:30 a.m.; last check in at 10:15 a.m.

Services Offered

Full scope birth control-related care for all active duty service members capable of becoming pregnant.

  • Hormone contraceptive patches
  • Hormone contraceptive pills
  • Hormone contraceptive implants (i.e. Naxplanon)
  • Hormone and non-hormone IUDs (Mirena, Kyleena, Paragard)
  • Emergency contraception
  • Hormone contraceptive vaginal rings (Annovera, NuvaRing)
  • Depro-Provera injections

How it Works

Birth control counseling is done in-clinic by a nurse and/or provider to assist in choosing the best contraceptive option that suits you. Implants and IUDs can be placed on the same day as your walk-in appointment.
