Pharmacy
The Hurlburt Field Pharmacy processes prescriptions from military and civilian providers for eligible beneficiaries in accordance with the DOD formulary.
New Prescriptions
Ask your provider to send scripts electronically to DOD Hurlburt Field Pharmacy.
- No need to activate! Automatically processed upon receipt and ready for same day pickup within two hours.
- Prescriptions will be returned to stock if not picked up within 10 duty days.
- If your prescription is too soon for us to refill, we’ll automatically process it on the first day that it’s due.
- Paper prescriptions: place in drop box next to check-in kiosk and allow up to two duty days for processing.
Refills
- Call our automated line at 850-881-5835 and enter the 12-digit Rx number found on label.
- You can now use the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to request refills for most prescriptions from your military pharmacy. This applies to existing prescriptions with remaining refills. With MHS GENESIS you can:
- See all prescriptions you can refill
- Select the prescription you want to refill
- Select where you want to pick up your refill
- See when your prescriptions are ready for pick up
- If your prescription has no refills left, or is expired, you’ll need to contact your provider for a renewal. You can do this using a scheduled appointment or you can use the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to request a renewal.
- The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is a secure website for 24/7 access to your health care information. This new feature is part of a suite of tools available to you, including accessing clinical notes, viewing lab and test results, reviewing immunizations.
ScriptCenter
Beneficiaries can also pick up refills at the ScriptCenter pharmacy kiosk, located at the Base Exchange near the food court. ScriptCenter is available during BX operating hours.
If you’d like to pick up your refill at the ScriptCenter, select that location by calling your refill in to 850-881-5835, and select Option 2. Refills will be delivered to the ScriptCenter three duty days after your request is placed. If you have any other questions about the ScriptCenter, please call the pharmacy at 850-881-2133.
Returned to Stock
- All prescriptions will be returned to stock if not picked up within 10 days
- You must call 850-881-2133, Option 4, to request processing of returned-to-stock items
Prior Authorization
TRICARE requires prior authorization for certain medications before the pharmacy can fill them. If your medication requires prior authorization, your provider must complete a
form and send it to Express Scripts. See the

Out of Stock and Backordered Medications
- We routinely stock over 2,000 medications, however, we may not have the medication or strength for your prescription always on our shelf. We can order most medications and have them available for pickup within 1-3 business days.
- Some medications are “backordered.” This means our suppliers aren’t able to meet consumer demand due to shortages, manufacturing issues, or other problems. We generally can’t obtain these medications within a reasonable time and will work with you to transfer your prescription or process an alternate medication as requested by your provider.
- Sign up for text message notifications to be alerted when your prescription can’t be filled due to out-of-stock or backorder issues.
Prescription Transfers
- Transfer prescriptions TO Hurlburt Field: Call 850-881-2133, Option 4, to request a transfer. Please be ready to provide your name, date of birth, medication(s), and pharmacy information.
- Transfer prescriptions FROM Hurlburt Field: Ask the receiving pharmacy to call 850-881-2133, Option 3, to request the transfer.
- NOTE: Prescriptions from MTF pharmacies can be filled without contacting the losing pharmacy for a transfer.
